StarMiner 601 Firmware Flashing Guide

⚠️ IMPORTANT – Preparation & Key Notes:
  • Use a USB data cable (charging-only cables will not work).
  • Use the original power adapter that comes with the device.
  • The device must complete the firmware upgrade within 2 minutes after power‑on. If an abnormality occurs during the upgrade, power off the device, let it cool down completely, and then retry (this applies when the fan stops running).

Step 1 – Open the Flashing Tool

Navigate to Star_Miner_601_Firmware_Flashing_Package\flash_download_tool_3.9.4 and locate the flash_download_tool executable.

Step 2 – Initial Tool Configuration

Double‑click to run the tool. Configure as shown below, then click OK.

Step 3 – Select Firmware & Set Parameters

  1. Click the "..." button to select the firmware (.bin) file you want to flash.
  2. Set the flashing address to 0.

Step 4 – Configure Flashing Options

Adjust the following settings as recommended:

  • SPI SPEED40MHz
  • SPI MODEQIO
  • BAUD115200 (you can try a lower value if flashing fails)

Step 5 – Select COM Port & Start Flashing

After connecting the device correctly, a new COM port will appear in the dropdown list. Select that COM port, then click START.

Step 6 – Completion

When you see the success message (or the tool finishes without errors), the firmware has been flashed successfully. Press the reset button on the device or power cycle it to see the new firmware running.
